I think each of these images study signification, using symbols and textual lettering. While one is a more vague form of tagging, the other two explore words out of (but nearby!) context. Strangely, I think they seem to be suggesting some action or state of being.

The backyard of Tucson, Arizona is the site of thousands of deaths of migrants seeking asylum in the USA. The Sonoran Desert is unforgiving and many Tucsonans have devoted themselves to leaving jugs of water in areas where they might be found. The Border Patrol throws the water away whenever they find it. If they find you leaving it, they will arrest you on a variety of charges.

December 18, 2018 : So I saw this about four days ago. It is on an apartment building. I can only imagine it refers to the fact that Santa Monica used to be often referred to as the People’s Republic of Santa Monica, in reference to the Renters Rights. Those rights were softened to allow rents to go to market rate after vacancy. http://articles.latimes.com/1985-10-13/news/we-15741_1_santa-monica-ruth-yannatta-goldway-rent-control--
